Elissar Haikal Nooh is a worldwide-collected Syrian-Lebanese painter, born in Beirut in 1973. Professionally in the art domain since 2001, first as an artisan designing & handcrafting jewellery out of old Persian carpet fragments and vintage metal for her Beirut-based studio, Elissar & Other Stories (2006 -2010), collaborating with galleries & artisans in Beirut, Paris, Oslo, Amsterdam, and Istanbul.

 

Based in Bahrain since 2011, Elissar teamed up with her husband in 2016 to start The Noohs, as a mural artist and creator of paint effects on furniture, naturally transitioning to fine art on canvas in 2020. 

 

Self-taught and experimental, her paintings are included in private and public collections across the world, and have made their way to Europe, USA, Canada, Australia, Mongolia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, and South Korea. 

 

Elissar has also collaborated with American rock band Goose. The jam band's Fall 2023 EP album features one of her paintings as its cover to represent the music project both online & offline.
